Soil Association Scotland's Organic Food Festival
19-21 September 2008

For a third year, the highlight of Scotland's organic calendar is returning to Glasgow’s Merchant City. We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, well organised, and who enjoy meeting new people, to help staff the event.

We need event stewards, and people willing to help support exhibitors, assist our celeb chefs, staff the box office for our special events programme, and help with festival promotion. If you have relevant experience, that's a bonus, but it's not necessary.

The festival promises to be a blast. At the Old Fruitmarket there'll be a magical marketplace full to the brim with gorgeous organic and wild harvested goodies. Next door, at the Ramshorn Theatre, there'll be organic fashion and textiles, health and beauty, ethical homeware, and an organic café run by The 78.

The packed programme of cookery demos, talks, debate, and tutored tastings will feature Gardeners’ World presenter and celebrated chef Sarah Raven; and Kaye Adams of Loose Women fame. Our Kidszone will feature a farm frieze art competition, food themed face painting, and a fabulous smoothie bike.

If you'd like to get involved, please email your name and contact details to ssienche@soilassociation.org, or call 0131 666 2474 and ask for Sandrine.

The Soil Association is the UK's leading campaigning and certification organisation for organic food and farming. We also promote planet-friendly food and farming and campaign for safer, healthier produce and production methods.

You love music. So do we. If you want to use your talent, time or mildly embarrassing obsession with music to make the world a better place, then keep reading…

Here at Oxfam we're looking for pro-active, outgoing music-lovers to become volunteer Music Event Organisers for Oxjam Music Festival 2008.

Oxjam is a music festival with a difference. Your event, in your town, adding together with other Oxjam events across the UK, makes one huge party. You choose the tunes. Any kind. From classical to club nights, folk to funk – you just have to have the drive to make it happen this April.

Ed and the rest of the Oxjam team will support you all the way, with face-to-face training and phone support.

For you it means gaining valuable experience, meeting new people and getting more involved in your local music scene.

For us it means the world. The money you raise goes towards our work to end poverty.

For more information, visit www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam

To make sure you get there in time for training – sign up before 1st March.
